What Can an A3 Printer Scanner Do?

!±8± What Can an A3 Printer Scanner Do?

If you're a technological savvy, then you will not even think twice about what this equipment can do. However, for the benefit of the technologically challenged, we will focus on what this machine can basically do. An A3 printer and scanner is basically a multifunctional device that allows you to print and scan. However, like most multifunctional gadgets, they have additional features that come along with it. Some of them may be wireless connectivity or facsimile capability.

So let's start with the most basic function of an A3 printer scanner. A printer and scanner for A3 can print documents to a maximum of A3 sizes. If you're not familiar with this size, an A3 size has dimensions of 17" x 11". Most printers are capable of printing up to Legal sizes, which measures 14" x 11". Do not be misled though. A3 printers can print on A3 sizes as well as smaller sizes. So if you're worried that you are only able to print on A3 sizes, there is no need to worry. Most A3 printers are capable of printing on smaller sizes such as Letter and Legal sizes. Some even have the option to print on envelopes and other media.

Let's proceed to the next basic function of an A3 printer scanner. This equipment is able to scan documents at 17" x 11" sizes. Most scanners work by using computer software that comes along with it. Assuming that the software is running, the document is faced down on the flatbed scanner and is enclosed with a lid. When it starts scanning, it flashes a light along the document. When it's done, the computer pops up a window asking how the image will be saved. Before, scanners automatically generate JPG images on the specified directory. Scanners today have other saving options such as format and directory.

Both scanning and printing functions go hand in hand in such a way that it generates another function, copying. Some printer scanners have the option to print it directly so it can work similar to a photocopier. The great thing about it is that they can also process colored documents. Since what we have been discussing so far is an A3 printer scanner, it is only logical to say that you have the added capability of photocopying A3 size documents.

If the document you are scanning is a portrait type, assuming that you have a very large document that rotating it will exceed in one dimension, then just scan it at any orientation that will allow the document to fit. You can use image-editing software to fix the orientation. Most image editing programs have the capability to rotate, crop or even re-size images.

Now that we've tackled most of what an A3 printer scanner can do, we've basically tackled what most printer scanners can do. These however are only the basic functions. There are some printer scanners that have other special features. Some can be used even without a computer. There are printer scanners where you just pop in a USB flash drive and you can set the scanner to save it directly on the USB flash drive. This is only an example of what the coming models will be.
